Welfare

At Barnaby’s Dog Grooming, we take the health and well-being of every dog seriously. All dogs must be fit, healthy, fully vaccinated, wormed, and treated for fleas before attending a grooming appointment. Before and during each session, we carry out a basic health check and will inform you if we notice anything unusual. Please note that our groomers are not veterinary professionals, and our checks do not replace regular veterinary care. Grooming may uncover pre-existing health conditions, and if a dog becomes stressed, unwell, or unsafe during a session, the groom may be stopped for their welfare. If fleas, ticks, or other parasites are found, additional charges may apply, and the appointment may be cut short. Owners are responsible for treating their dog and home before any future appointments. In cases of severe matting, coats may need to be clipped or shaved to ensure the dog’s comfort and safety, which may incur additional charges. Removing mats can sometimes reveal skin irritation or other underlying issues; Barnaby’s Dog Grooming cannot be held responsible for any after-effects.

Dog Behaviour

For the safety and well-being of all pets and staff, we reserve the right to refuse grooming services to any dog that displays aggressive, unsafe, or unmanageable behaviour. Owners must provide full information about any known aggressive tendencies or behaviours before the groom. If a dog becomes aggressive or unsafe during a grooming session, we may stop the groom immediately and ask the owner to collect their dog. This includes behaviours such as biting, snapping, growling, or any actions that could put others at risk. Owners accept responsibility for any injury or damage caused by their dog. A handling fee may apply. In some cases, we may request additional precautions, such as the use of a muzzle, before services can proceed. Our goal is to ensure a safe, calm, and positive experience for every dog in our care.

Data Protection

At Barnaby’s Dog Grooming, we take your privacy seriously and are committed to keeping your information safe. Any details you share with us, including your contact information and your pet’s needs, are stored securely and used only to provide the best care for your dog. We may contact you by phone, email, or text about appointments, and occasionally to let you know about special offers, updates, or news we think you’ll find useful.

In the event of an emergency, we may need to contact your specified veterinary. If we are unable to reach them, we may seek advice from another qualified veterinary to ensure your pet receives the care they need. Your information will never be shared with anyone outside of what’s necessary for your pet’s care unless you give us permission.

Our goal is to protect your details while making every visit safe, stress-free, and enjoyable for both you and your dog.
